Colour
We all know that ‘greige’ is very on trend at the moment but lots of people have started to experiment with colour. A great way to do this is by picking two shades on opposite sides of the colour wheel. This will help achieve bold contrasts. Check out this example where they have chose to go with pops of pink and green.
Navy is also a great option to go for. It is a major trend in Kitchen design at the moment and there are a couple of reasons for that. It is a practical colour, it will last for years, it is timeless, classic and it is easily matched with other current trends such as golden fixtures and fittings.
Finishes
Often overlooked, attractive taps, hinges, knobs, handles and sockets can really transform a kitchen design. They are the finishing touches to a room (literally!). Brass and golden finishes are very in at the moment as well as black. This can be a cheap option if you’re looking for a change without breaking the bank. These finishes can be easily replaced but if you’re looking to save even more money and enjoy a bit of DIY you can purchase matt or metallic spray paints and upcycle your current fittings.
Panelling
Panelling is everywhere at the moment, and we think it is a great way to add texture to your kitchen – whether it be a kitchen backsplash, a feature wall or even panelling on cabinets. This can be a very inexpensive option if you’re wanting to make big changes without a big budget.
Different Tile Arrangement
Having tiling in a kitchen is nothing new but recently trends have moved away from the classic brick bond effect placement and towards placements such as the stepladder effect or simple linear arrangements. Herringbone patters appear to be the most sought after.
Two-toned Kitchen
The trend for combing two colours has soared in this past year. It is a great way to add an interesting aesthetic to your kitchen. Here, paint is your best friend which can be used to transform your cabinets or island (if you have one) whether it be light, dark or bright colours – whatever your style. It is also a great way to incorporate wood or wood effect materials which have also been creeping back into fashion. Wood can add texture as well as making the room feel very homely.
Big and even small changes can be a bit overwhelming so we would be happy to help with any ideas you have. We are here for you from start to finish with your project. If you are interested in upgrading your kitchen, contact us and we can provide you with a free no obligation quote.
